Samsung Electronics made the top 10 list in 16 countries according to the survey conducted by YouGov BrandIndex asking for which brands workers from 38 countries around the world would be proud to work. This makes the South Korean tech giant the second best brand overall following Google, which appeared on the top 10 list in 23 countries. Apple was the third overall with its name having made the top 10 list in 13 countries.
YouGov had conducted a survey of 1,730 brands in 38 countries from April last year to March this year. Scores were calculated by deducting the share of respondents who answered he or she would be embarrassed to be working for a certain company from the share of respondents who answered he or she would be proud to be working for the company.
Samsung Electronics was ranked high in all regions across the world, including Europe, the Americas, and Asia. It was picked the No. 1 in the Philippines; No. 2 in Vietnam, France, the Netherlands, and Norway; No. 3 in South Korea, Germany, and Indonesia; and No. 7 in the U.S., right before Google in the No. 8 position. What’s particularly notable is that the brand has either maintained the same ranking or gone up since last year in all 16 countries that it appeared on the top 10 list, except two countries, Vietnam—No. 1 to No. 2—and Saudi Arabia - No. 6 to No. 7.
