CBS Interviews North Korean General

”If the United States invades our country, we will use nuclear weapons to defend it,” said North Korean three-star general Ri Chan Bok to CBS 60 Minutes correspondent Dan Rather during his visit to North Korea in last October, CBS reported Saturday.

When asked, “Do you think that the United States might attack North Korea?” Ri answered, “We firmly believe that the United States will carry out its policies toward our country, even if they have to use military means. What we can say to you right now is that we currently have nuclear weapons.” Ri did not show 60 Minutes cameras any of the North’s purported nuclear weapons, however.
