In a flurry of selections July 11, the administration has selected the former ambassador to Singapore Chung Ki-Ok to the post as ambassador to Denmark and former deputy foreign minister Ham Myung-Chul to the post vacated by Chung Ki-Ok who was the former ambassador to Singapore. Their appointments were among 19 another selections made for various high-level government posts in diplomatic service domestically and abroad.
Among other appointments, with the confirmation of acceptance by former Rep. Yang Sung-Chul to the post of ambassador to the U.S and by former Foreign Minister Hong Soon-Young to the post of ambassador to China, they were officially asked to prepare for a dispatch to their new posts.
As for other posts, former ambassador to Colombia Kim Seung-Young was transferred to Argentina; former ambassador to Brazil Won Jong-Chan to Colombia; the director general of the Overseas Residents and Consular Affairs Bureau Jung Shin to Ukraine; KEDO deputy executive director Lee Tae-Shik to Israel Embassy; former director general of the Treaties Bureau Hwang Yong-Shik to Tunisia Embassy: retired lieutenant general Lee Ki-Hyun to Lebanon; former minister to Russia Chung Eui-Min to Ghana; and deputy director general of the Cultural Affairs Bureau Ryoo See-Ya to Nepal.
The administration also appointed the former director general of the Middle East and African Affairs Bureau Cho Young-Jae to the post of consul general in Chicago; former director general of the Asia-Pacific Affairs Bureau Cho Jung-Pyo to Atlanta; director of personnel at the Office of Planning and Management Kim Sook to Toronto; former ambassador to Ghana Park Seung-Moo to Hiroshima; and Senior research officer at the Institutes of Foreign Affairs and National Security Jeung Seung-Bah to Sapporo.
