A source in Kremlin`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed that Russia would be open to the possibility of allowing a transcontinental railway cutting through Russia to connect Korea, both the South and the North, to Europe for cargo transport.

The source revealed that during a planned 2-day visit by Russia`s President Vladimir Putin scheduled for the 19th, the subject of the transcontinental railway will most certain by brought up.

As for the trans-Korean railway, it would be a rather simple technical matter of connecting the existing network which had been severed at the DMZ as soon as the details are worked out and agreed upon by two Koreas.
