Japanese-American returns Korean relics

Korea`s lost cultural treasures have made their return trip from Japan.

A Korean-Japanese businessman, Kim Yong-Do has donated to the National Museum of Korea his collection of 51 articles of Korean cultural treasures consisting of Koryo chongja, Chosun bunchung porcelain and Buddhist paintings. Kim, 78, has been collecting such treasures since the 1940s, and hits collection¡¯s current estimated value is 5 billion won.

The National Museum of Korea transported Kim`s treasures July 20 and held a public exhibition on Jul 25.

The Museum called the treasures "highly valuable and worthy of being designated national treasures as well as cultural treasures."

According to the will of the donator, the treasures will be placed on exhibit at the National Museum of Korea.
