MIC selects 20 outstanding new IT tech

On the 27th, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) revealed that it had selected 20 "Outstanding New IT Technologies" from the telecom, radio broadcasting, semiconductor/components and information technology sectors.

By area, 4 items, including a personal server for internet phones, were chosen from the telecom sector and 4 products, including wireless internet environment data transmission and storage technology, from the radio broadcasting sector. 3 were selected from the semiconductors/components field and 9 from the information technology sector, which includes software, games and internet security.

Items designated outstanding new technology will be able to receive up to 100 million won in government support for the development of future prototypes. Once the development stage is completed, support from expert groups will be provided for 3 additional years.

The services allotted to companies include technical/management consulting, IT marketing and the opportunity to move to an incubating facility.
