The public security department of the Supreme Public Prosecutor`s Office will get tough with doctors should they stage another strike, a spokesman said Sunday.

Police troops will be dispatched to the Korea Medical Association headquarters immediately if doctors stage a sit-in rally there to arrest the organizers of the illegal collective action, he said.

The prosecutors are now tracing the whereabouts of about 10 core members of the "committee for the struggle to regain medical rights," a hardline faction of the medical association.

They will also arrest four leaders, including Shin Sang-Jin, who allegedly led the first strike in June and are now on the wanted list.

They also warned that those who join the illegal second strike will face criminal charges immediately.
