Korea-Japan lawmakers to hold regular talks

Young lawmakers from Korea and Japan, who attended the "386 political forum," reached a seven-point agreement on August 11 which includes regularization of the "Korea-Japan Young Legislators Meeting" twice a year. It aims to provide a forum for discussion of mutual exchanges and cooperation on a regular basis. The Korean and Japanese lawmakers announced their accord in a joint press conference at the National Assembly during the day. Through regular meetings, it said, they will exert joint efforts to address past Korean-Japan history, develop bilateral relations through the expansion of cultural exchange, resolve the issue of granting voting rights to Korean residents in Japan and visa issuance procedures for Koreans and Japanese.

In addition, the young lawmakers of the two countries agreed to promote the operation of shuttle flights between Kimpo International Airport of Korea and Haneda Airport of Japan, exchange of joint concerts between the young legislators of the two nations and production of Internet homepages.
