The ¡°Korean-Express¡± Park Chan-Ho of the Los Angeles Dodgers hit his first home run in the U.S. major leagues and recorded his 13th victory this season.

Park, 27, went to the mound as the starting pitcher and recorded seven strikeouts, permitting only five scattered hits and one walk during seven innings. He earned the victory over the Montreal Expos in the August 25 game at Dodgers Stadium.

Park, who achieved his second consecutive victory after a game against New York Mets on August 20, hit a solo home run, thereby turning on the engine for the offense. He recorded two hits and two runs in three at bats.

Park, who has a total of 60 victories as a result of this win, recorded 13 wins and eight losses this season, and his ERA lowered to 3.66 from 3.81.

With exceptional control and extraordinary crisis management ability, Park effectively shut down the Expo`s batting lineup, demonstrating perfect play, showing off his batting ability without apologies. This performance made the forecasts for his establishing a new record of most wins (15 wins) in a season and for his annual pay negotiations bright.

Park is the scheduled starter for the August 30 game against the Milwaukee Brewers and will seek his 14th win of the season.
