With Coca-Cola¡¯s entry into North Korea on June 22, shortly after the inter-Korean summit, Pepsi Cola is to make its debut in the Communist country August 29.

Industry sources said that Pepsi Cola Korea would ship 6,000 cases of 250-milliliter containers that are produced in South Korea to Nampo Port in North Korea through Hong Kong. Pepsi to be shipped to the North will be produced by Lotte-Chilsung Beverage Co. Ltd, but it will bear a Russian brand. Currently, Coca-Cola markets its products in North Korea under a Chinese brand.

Meanwhile, Geunyoung Foods, which produces the local brand Cola 815, also is planning to market its product in North Korea.
