Hyundai to build an airport in Mt. Geumgang

By the year 2005, Hyundai will build a small-scale airport in Mt. Kumkang. Moreover, Pyongyang style Ok-Ryu-Gwan will be built in Seoul, Mt. Geumgang and Beijing and joint movie business and exchanges of popular music business will likely to start within this year. An official form the Hyundai Asan revealed its plans for the economic cooperation and exchanges of cultural business with North with such details on September 3.

First of all, Hyundai will build \Geumran airport that can handle 300,000 passengers a year in Mt. Geumkang area. Hyundai revealed that the runway of the airport will be 2.4km and the airport can park 3 airplanes at all times. Hyundai also revealed that it has selected 1.5 million pyong of the Mt. GoYun area in Tongcheon county as the site for a comprehensive recreation and tourism center for tourists of Mt. Geumgang.

In addition, Hyundai will build Ok-Ryu-Gwan restaurant that is famous for Pyongyang style cold noodles, close to Han river in Seoul, Onjeongri in Mt. Geumgang, and Beijing China. Moreover, in an attempt to recover the cultural homogeneity between the North and South, Hyundai will promote for exchanges of sports, academia, arts and culture.
