South Korea advanced to the quarterfinals in the women's doubles competition in the Sydney Olympic badminton competition.
The team of Ra Kyung-Min and Chung Jae-Hee routed the British duo of Sarah Hardaker and Joanne Davies 2-0 (15-5, 15-1) in the round of 16 at the Pavilion of Sydney Olympic Park on Tuesday.
The Ra-Chung team will meet the Danish duo of Rikke Olsen and Helene Kirkegaard for a semifinal berth on Wednesday.
But the team of Yim Kyung-Jin and Lee Hyo-Jung failed to make the final eight as they lost to the world's top seed, the Chinese pair of Fei Ge and Jun Gu, 0-2 (3-15, 5-15).
Kim Ji-Hyun also failed to advance to the semifinals, losing 0-2 to China's Dai Yun in the women's individual competition.
