112 lawyers in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas gathered at the lawyer's hall in Daegu Thursday and released a statement upholding the people's right to know and the establishment of constitutionalism, bitterly criticizing the ruling party.

The lawyers acknowledged the current administration¡¯s achievements in restarting the talks between North and South Korea and overcoming Cold War tensions. However, they criticized the current administration for its non-transparent approach to the process, which they said violated the people's right to know and shook constitutionalism, the very foundation of Korean democracy.

Moreover, they asserted that the government¡¯s policy towards North Korea lacks reciprocity and demanded that the government take action to solve problems that are jeopardizing the nation and burdening the people.

These include the unfair investigation of election law violators, the Hanvit Bank loan scandal, political corruption, the ill-prepared separation of pharmacies and clinics, and the negligent management of public companies.
