The Seoul Pops Orchestra gave concerts in Tianjin and Beijing Dec. 11 and 13, presenting the Chinese audience with the joyful encounter between orchestra and pop music.
"Chinese fans were greatly disappointed in October when concerts were canceled because of promotion problems," said an official of the Korean Cultural Center in Beijing.
"The performances this time, approved by the Chinese government, are expected to open the gate for the Korean style of pop arts again," he added.
The Korean style of pop arts is enjoying a boom in China, since many Korean TV dramas and songs have been introduced in China.
In its performances in Tianjin and Beijing, the Seoul Pops Orchestra presented the audience with colorful pieces ranging from classic music such as Sarasate's violin piece, Ziegeunerweisen, to screen music, chanson, Korean folk songs and pop songs.
