Colin Powell, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who was designated as Secretary of State for President-elect George W. Bush's administration, asked officials of the State Department not to address him as General Powell, sent a short letter to State Department officials and requested that they address him as Secretary of State designate until the Senate approves his nomination, according to a report of AFP.
