Guus Hiddink, new head coach for the Korean national soccer team, preparing for the 2002 World Cup, arrived in Seoul on Wednesday for his new job.
The 55-year-old Dutch man came here with assistant coach Pim Verveek and technical coordinator Jean Roelf. They will join the national team at its training camp in Ulsan on Friday.
Upon arrival, Hiddink met three Korean coaches -- Park Hang-Suh, Chung Hae-Sung and Kim Hyu-Tae -- in the afternoon. On Thursday, he will meet Rep. Chung Mong-Joon, president of the Korea Football Association, to exchange views on ways of improving Korean soccer.
He also will meet his predecessor, Huh Jung-Moo, now working as a technical advisor for the national squad, to discuss how to manage the team effectively.
