A new system will be worked out soon to guarantee the participation of adolescents in developing policies on juvenile-related issues.
The Presidential Commission on Juvenile Protection (PSJP), which is controlled by the Prime Minister¡¯s Office, said Wednesday that it would form a policy discussion subcommittee consisting of 10 people under age 24 by the end of this month as part of efforts to draw up more effective policy measures to protect the nation`s youth.
Officials said that four of the members would be selected from among star sports players and entertainers and the remaining six through public recruitment.
The members would be required to take part in the monthly PSIP meetings and would receive allowances of 150,000 won, just like adult members.
