The government plans to propose a summit between President Kim Dae-Jung and incoming U.S. President George W. Bush in March and a visit to Seoul by North Korean Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong-Il immediately after the proposed Kim-Bush meeting.

The plans were unveiled Thursday by a ranking government official who also said that the Seoul-Washington summit and Kim Jong-Il's Seoul visit would take place in March or shortly thereafter. He said President-elect Bush was in a position to meet with the Korean president at an early date, adding that this was President Kim's desire.
