Lee Sang-Yeop, professor of chemical engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), was named to the editorial board of Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, a leading scholarly journal of biotechnology published by the Springer House.

He is the first Korean to join the editorial staff of the world-renowned academic journal, which is listed in the certified catalogue and index of scientific treatises (SCI).

Prof. Lee will be involved in the selection of theses contributed to the publication and the recommendation of papers by Korean scholars. Since January, Lee has been an editor of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering, another academic journal endorsed by the SCI and published by Springer House.
