The joint prosecution-military investigation team asked the court for an arrest warrant against a certain Kim (53, female) on suspicions of helping Park Noh-Hang, a key suspect in the military draft scandal, in his escape and offering him bribes so that her son could dodge his military service.

This is the first time for the joint investigation team to seek a warrant to apprehend a suspect following Park`s arrest in connection with the draft avoidance case. Meanwhile, Kim filed a request with the court for a substantial review of her charges by the probe team.

According to the prosecution, the suspect Kim met with Park in Aug. 1997 at a tea room in Ichon-dong, Seoul and offered him 10 million won for his help in having her son disqualified from military service in the course of his physical examination. At that time, Park served at the Military Manpower Administration as a member of the combined defense ministry investigation team.
