New Millennium Democratic Party held `Leaders Talkfest For Party`s Settlement` to discuss the measures to recover the internal conflicts of the party in the presence of the President but did not reach any conclusion for the current issues including the human resource management and the date of the national convention of the party.
After listening the opinions of the party`s Supreme Council members, President Kim remarked, ``I will reveal my decision by chairperson Han Kwang-Ok at the party`s executive committee on Nov. 8th after carefully considering the opinions of the Supreme Council members.``
President Kim said, ``I introduced the system of the Supreme Council with a big expectation but now I recognize that it is not fully satisfactory. I am carefully thinking over how I as party`s president will take responsibility.``
A Supreme member said, ``the remarks of the President that he will take responsibility sounded very meaningful. But I am not sure that the remark is related with the party`s presidency.``
However, according to a participant, President did not mention anything about former Supreme Council member Kwon Rho-Gap and Senior Secretary Park Ji-Won who are under attack of the reformists.
Right after the meeting, Supreme Council member Park Sang-Chun revealed his opinion that the party must elect the Presidential candidate at the national convention around next April and prepare for the local government election with the Presidential candidate, pointing out that the sense of crisis has been increasing since the crushing defeat of the 10.15 re-election and by-election.
Particularly, Supreme Council member Park Sang-Chun asserted that ``the date of the party`s national convention has to be decided by the consensus of the Presidential runners. The Supreme Council must be recovered by the designation process in the party`s executive committee on Nov. 8th.``
However, Han Hwa-Gap and Kim Keun-Tae opposed to the national convention in April. Supreme Council member Kim emphasized, ``the request for the human resource reformation should not be covered up by the matter of national convention.``
