Enron burst on the scene as 7th largest business in sales in the world by continuous rapid growth after it had changed its business to B2B among the energy industries, taking the opportunity of the deregulation by the U.S. government in late 1990s. Revenues in 2000 were over 100 billion dollars. However, by the imprudent expansion of the business, financial difficulty of the company has surfaced in the second half of this year. Enron had to lay off one fifth of its employees (4000) but in the end, it finally filed for a bankruptcy. The stock price of the company, once 84 dollars in August of last year, plunged down to 26 cents after the bankruptcy.
