[Editorial] President Kim, Talk about Sons.

Whole nation is in uproar due to three sons of President Kim Dae Jung, however, it is disappointing for Cheong Wa Dae and the ruling party to show negative attitude on the prosecution`s investigation.

It seems that there is nobody to take responsibility.

In addition, in case of one son, the report that he was suspected of compromise was reported to Cheong Wa Dae, however it is said that Cheong Wa Dae ignored.

Therefore, I feel that Cheong Wa Dae`s perceiving of situation is easy going.

In our society, the problem of children is a matter of parents.

If son commits bad thing, it becomes fault of the father and father asks forgiveness.

President Kim’s muteness with regards to his son is far away from such public emotion.

Of course, if we see by law, there is nothing which is clarified, but only suspicions.

However, President Kim must know than any one else that politics is not connected to law only.

The thing that names of President`s family is involved in scandal; is itself a matter to seek forgiveness from people.

If everything is revealed, it is hard to change the situation.

The prosecution used to investigate matters related to President`s relatives several times however few things have solved out yet.

People are finding it hard to believe that the prosecution investigated without any privilege, and such concerns are still existent.

Thereby, the words such as, special investigating team, investigating National affairs and voluntarily appearing in front of it are floating.

President Kim said regarding Hanbo situation when he was President of the opposition in 1997, “ President Kim Young- Sam should accept special investigative team and his son should also testify in National Assembly hearing, then the truth of Hanbo will be revealed and President Kim can be relieved of the responsibility”.

Therefore it is right for President Kim to speak about three sons now, apart from investigation of the prosecution.

And if he has things to decide, he should do so.
