[Editorial] Bitter Sound of Members of MDP

Talk in Millennium Democratic Party`s workshop shows how serious dismay of people, members are feeling.

Progressive members in MDP requested withdrawal of Kim Dae Jung Peace Foundation for Asia Pacific region and its restoration to society, expressing stance of member Kim Hong-il and reshuffle of National Cabinet after World Cup,etc.

Every voice was towards President Kim Dae Jung and his family.

It started from the perception that MDP`s crisis was due to President Kim`s non-management of people close to the power and sons matter.

President Kim didn`t cope with matters and avoided them, and finally he made the party suffer like falling support of Presidential candidate Roh Moo-hyun.

However the ruling party MDP should also take responsibility for the current situation.

MDP has also shown attitude to protect sons of President like Cheong Wa Dae, but, after Mr. Kim Hong- gul`s arrest, it was embarrassed.

Insistence of a member who said, “now, as we are facing crisis due to each gate, we should disconnect what we have to do (with President Kim) ”, discloses imminence of MDP.

Members of the Ruling party, who used to ignore public opinion, complained to themselves agreeing on public opinion.

The foundation that Mr. Hong-Up has managed on behalf of President Kim is like agitating point of compromise, as there is suspicion of money bargain by Mr. Hong- up as well as suspicion on staff involved in national affairs.

It can`t avoid sight of people by withdrawing from the foundation only.

Attitude of `first son`, member Kim, who is just watching matter of two brothers like watching fire is also far from people`s mind.

Reshuffling of National cabinet by President Kim makes more clear his withdrawal from MDP.

If President Kim has a mind, he can answer aforesaid.

Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson answered on such requests, simply, “ we will not mention especially as President withdrew”.

Is it really so?

If he thinks that he can divert people`s mind by withdrawing, it is his miscalculation.
