“Italian Press seemed to publish the news of Ahn Jung-hwan with heavy headlines after Luciano Gaucci said he would no longer employ Ahn, whose `golden goal` dumped Italy out of the World Cup in the second round. We don’t need to react to the news” said Ahn Jongbok, representative of Eplayers.

“Gaucci said he would no longer employ Ahn. But, the employment agreement between Ahn and Perugia was terminated at the end of April. According to the request of Perugia, the Agreement is extended for 2 months by the end of June.” said he.

He said “Ahn already expressed his intention not to wear Perugia uniform any longer. Gaucci knew about it, but seemed to speak with ‘popularity timeserving’ in Italian provoking atmosphere”.

Some of Italian Press reported that Ahn can not give expensive waiver to Perugia like Nakata Hitetosi. But, it is not true.

Ahn Jung-Hwan joined Perugia on loan from the South Korean team Busan Icons in the summer of 2000. Accordingly, Perugia cannot get any of waiver of Ahn. Busan Icons promised that Ahn can go any team he wants. And he pays USD 1.50 million (KRW 1.9 billion) as waiver to Busan when he makes the Agreement for transfer not on loan.

Eplayer said “Perugia didn’t pay the rental fees and salary of 4 months to Ahn”. Ahn who contracted for the annual salary of USD 500,000 hasn’t receive the 4 months salary and Eplayer hasn’t receive the partial rental fee(USD 100,000) paid instead to Busan Icons when making the lease agreement in the beginning of the year.

“4 or 5 teams of England, Spain and Germany are proposing to entice him. But Ahn jung-hwan wants to go to the other team in Italy. If not possible, he prefers to Premier League, England.” said the Eplayer.
