Tera (1 trillion) Bit highly integrated silicon semiconductor logic circuit which can handle a logic signal with one electronics was developed.

Choi Jung-Byeom, the professor of Dept. of Physics, Chungbuk National University announced on September 12, that he and his team succeeded in developing the logic circuit in wafer using the silicon single-electron transistor manufacturing technology through receiving the research expenses on Frontier development project from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). It was developed secondly after Japan NTT. When this logic circuit is made, integrity of semiconductor can be raised and a chip can be operated with extremely low electric power.

Professor Choi said “It is anticipated that this technology will make great contribution toward creating the new Nano-Mechanics market such as low power CPU and mobile communication equipment and having capability which can lead the international semiconductor market estimated at approx. 1 trillion dollar in 2010.”
