Samsung Electronics-Hynix Promote Raising D RAM Price by 10%

Domestic Semi-conductor firms such as Samsung Electronics, Hynix, etc are likely to raise the price of DDR (double data rate) D RAM by 10%.

According to the industry on 3rd, Samsung Electronics and Hynix decided to raise the price by 10% as 256 Mega Byte DDR DRAM has been constantly on increase.

Samsung Electronics, one of the top manufacturers of D RAM in the world, prospects that such promotion will not be difficult as world demand of semi-conductors is on the rise. Hynix, which has 45% production of DDR of whole DRAM production, plans to raise the price aggressively as it expects the price negotiation would be easy because dealing price is nearly one dollar cheaper than the spot price.

Therefore, the fixed dealing price, which was 7.9 dollars as of the end of October, is prospected to recover 8 dollars for the first time since early this year. According to D RAM exchange, the price of 256 Mega DDR D RAM in Asian markets was 8.80 dollars for one unit on an average and it surpassed the highest price of the year.

On the other hand, it is reported that Nanya Technology in Taiwan will raise the price of DDR D RAM by more than 10%.
