Inspectors, "Estimated Minimum 1 Year for a Final Conclusion

Standing in a turning point of a war and peace, Iraq has a high tension.

On the second day after an advance team of UN Weapon`s inspectors arrived in Bagdad, Iraq, they discussed substances of investigations with Iraqi delegates on November 19. USA strongly warned that an anti-aircraft artillery attack of Iraqi military to US/British air force plane is a serious violation for a determination of UN Security Council.

▽ Activities of the advance team; On November 19, the leader of inspectors Hans Blix and IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei met an adviser in charge of weapons of Sadam Hussein and the delegate of the National Monitoring Committee, and discuss the substances of weapons investigation to be activated from November 27.

The leader of inspectors Hans Blix met with them in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed methods of the investigation for 2 hours. Then, he said “We made good progress.”

Besides, the German microbiologist who arrived in Bagdad, Iraq as a member of UN Inspectors, said “It is impossible to investigate the presumptive 700 hiding places of weapons until January 27, 2003, the expiry of the first report for UN, and it will take at least 1 year to make the final conclusion.”

▽ High Tension Between USA and Iraq; US European Command said that US and British air force planes dropped the precision guided munition to an attached facility of integrated defense system of Iraq as Iraq fired anti-aircraft artillery while these planes made a flight in an air of Iraq.

The aerial attack was done simultaneously when UN Weapon`s inspectors arrived in Bagdad after a lapse of 4 years and it was done three times. The place where these planes made the flight is a territorial sky of Iraq, but is the area restricted by UN for Iraq.

A spokesman of White House Scott McLaren warned, “The anti-aircraft artillery attack of Iraqi military to US/British air force plane is a serious violation for a determination of UN Security Council. The UN resolutions grant authorities to present such violation to the discussion of UN Security Council.”

However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs blamed, “US has used the UN resolutions as a function which justifies the attack to Iraq.”

▽ Rumor of Israel Attack 〓 The public radio broadcasting of Israel reported on November 18, “One official says that if USA attacks Iraq, the armed party of Lebanon, Hizbollah can attack Israel with the cause of trouble.”

The official said that Hizbullah has strengthened the military power in the borders of Israel and has owned the thousands of reserve forces and 1,000 combatants.

Besides, the radio broadcasting also reported that Syria provided a rocket of intersection 75㎞ to Hizbullah.

Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq, Tariq Mikhail AZIZ warned on November 17, “If USA attacks Iraq, Iraq will attack Israel.”
