The foreign news of AP and AFP has reported on the 20th that the United States and England, risking the oppositions of France, Russia, and the like, are planning to submit a new resolution to the UN Security Council in the beginning of next week which will make the attack on Iraq definite.
Based on this kind of movement, the foreign news observe that the Invasion of Iraq will take place in the beginning of March which is two weeks after the submission of the resolution.
▽Offense and Defense of the new resolution = The new resolution of the two countries will not only contain the contents of Iraq`s‘serious violation’of the UN`s disarmament request and giving the last one or two weeks for President Saddam Hussein of Iraq but will also make the war definite and official. Currently, the two countries are having the final discussion regarding the part of stating a specific‘time frame.’ It has been predicted that it will be after March 1st when the UN Security Council decide whether they will pass the resolution or not.
However, confronting this kind of the United State and England`s movement, the anti-war countries of France, Russia and the like are persisting their prior policy of postponing the inspection for the disarmament of Iraq.
The leaders from 45 nations including France and Africa opened a ‘leaders` conference of France and Africa’in Paris on 20th and have selected a joint declaration insisting the extension of the inspection. France, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, does have a right to refuse any resolution and the three countries who have signed on the joint declaration, Cameron, Angola and Guinea, are non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.
In regards to this, the New York Times reported that “the United States is working on the diplomatic strategies to hinder the refusal exercises of the anti-war permanent members such as France, Russia, China and the like with pressure after gaining the approvals of 9 out of 15 permanent members of the UN Security Council.”
▽Time of the attack = The Washington Times reported on the 20th that “the United States Military Force plans the time of the attack to be around the middle of March due to the President George W. Bush`s decision to present a new resolution to the United Nations.”
Before this, the BBC Broadcasting of England reported that from the analysis of the military power, the war is more likely to start around the beginning of March.
In relation to this, Donald Rumsfeld, the United State`s Secretary of Defense clarified that “the United State`s military power is all prepared for the Iraq War.” However, he did not comment about the specific scale of the military power already posted in the Gulf region.
