The United States is going to reinforce its military strength largely in preparation for the large-scale ground war currently underway in south-central Iraq.
In addition to the 4th Infantry Division which is to join the ground war soon, the U.S. Department of Defense has clarified on the 28th, the 9th day since the war, that they are going to add about 100,000 mechanized infantry troops to prepare for the prolonged war.
