Opposition Grand National Party`s vice spokesman Bae Yong-soo said June 4 that its supreme council decided to present a motion calling for deputy Prime Minister for Education Yoon Duck-hong`s dismissal for a controversial educational database network NEIS (National Education Information System) during the June parliamentary session.

The exact timing of presenting a bill to the National Assembly is likely to be determined at its general meeting of all GNP lawmakers scheduled for June 5.

GNP president Park Hee-tae said, “The GNP thought that President Roh Moo-hyun would listen to the public and dismiss vice prime minister for education Yoon. But the president said yesterday that his would let education minister Yoon remain in office. It is regrettable to find out that the president and the public show huge differences on this issue. So we decided that it is time for the GNP to take sides with the public.”
