The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, which was dispatched to the Iraq war, returned to the U.S. Naval Base Coronado in California on November 5 after completing an eight-month deployment for the war in Iraq. The USS Nimitz carrier sailed a total of 63,500 nautical miles for eight months, and it’s aircrafts helped in the “Strategy for Iraq liberty,” flying more than 6,500 missions during the Iraq war.
