First Meeting of Qaddafi and U.S. Lawmakers

The U.S. Congress delegation had a meeting with Muammar Al-Qaddafi, the leader of Libya on January 26. They discussed ways to restore the two countries’ relations that have been severed since 1981. This is the first visit by the U.S. Congress since the inauguration of the Qaddafi government in 1969.
