The Ministry of Construction and Transportation (MOCT) announced on Thursday that the written opinion for the constitutional petition filed regarding the special law for construction for the capital relocation project is scheduled to be submitted to the Constitutional Court on August 6.
MOCT representatives will turn in a written opinion for both the constitutional petition filed regarding the special law and for requesting provisional disposition to suspend the activities of the committee in charge of the capital relocation project.
The written opinion will hold that the contents, including the claim that those who are demanding the constitutional petitions are not eligible as the party concerned, of the capital relocation matter is not subject to a national vote, and that there is no defect in the process of enacting the special law. The representatives for the constitutional petition will examine the MOCT`s opinion when submitted, and will turn in an additional written opinion.
Meanwhile, Cheong Wa Dae, the National Assembly, the Ministry of Justice, the Committee for Capital Relocation and Seoul City, which all have received a request from the Constitutional Court to submit a written opinion, will turn in their opinions sooner or later, and it is expected that that a full-scale examination into this case will start in the middle of this month.
