“Today, the 30-Day Special Session Begins”

The special session of the National Assembly has the opening ceremony on February 1 and continue until March 2.

On the first two days of the special session, Uri Party Chairman Lim Chae-jeong and Grand National Party floor leader Kim Deok-ryong are expected to make the representative speech of the negotiation body.

Then, the National Assembly is to enter into the questioning session on the government’s work on February 14, beginning with politics, unification policy, foreign policy, and security policy. From February 15 to 17, economic (15 and 16), social, and cultural problems are expected to be discussed.

On a number of critical issues, including the National Security Law, the Uri Party said that it would bring up them for discussion. However, the Grand National Party responded, saying that the two major parties should try to focus more on economic conditions rather than political issues, which is expected to cause another stir between the two parties.
