Iraq’s Shiites Celebrate Election Victory

Shiite Iraqis held a party on February 5 at a Shiite temple in Baghdad in celebration of their victory in the election for the Constitutional Assembly. According to mid-count results announced by the Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq on February 4, The United Iraqi Alliance, which is a Shiite coalition, received more than 2.2 million votes out of a total of 3.3 million.
