“Let me touch the land again. The sea is dancing as well.” The ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule was held on the morning of August 15. President Roh Moo-hyun, key government officials, and citizens attended the ceremony held in front of Gwanghwamun in Seoul. Participants packed Sejongno where traffic was blocked and had a chance to contemplate the meaning of liberation under the huge Taegukgi flying in the wind.
