The U.S. Department of State revealed on August 22 that after North Korea and the U.S. made two phone call contacts last week, they held a third round of diplomatic talks on that day.
In a regular briefing, U.S. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said that Washington held a third contact meeting with Pyongyang, explaining that through what is called the New York channel, the U.S. conveyed a message saying that the U.S. is willing to respond to the questions of the six-party talks, and the North replied to it.
McCormack, however, refused to comment further over whether the third contact between the two countries was a phone call or a face-to-face talk.
