The Japanese daily, the Mainichi Shimbun, reported on September 3 that North Korea and the U.S will resume the fourth round of the six party talks in the third week of September, and the two countries’ top negotiators will meet in Beijing on September 11 ahead of the talks.

The newspaper said that two top negotiators, Christopher Hill, the U.S assistant secretary of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, and Kim Gye Gwan, the North Korean vice foreign minister, will decide the future direction of the six party talks at the meeting.

The paper also reported, “One diplomatic source in Washington confirmed that the six party talks will resume in the third week and that arrangements are being made for the meeting between top negotiators.”
