Interception

On June 22, an SM-3 missile is launched from the Aegis cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) on the ocean near Hawaii. During the drill, the U.S. Navy launched a middle-range missile from Camp Kauai and shot down a warhead separated from the missile’s rocket vehicle 161 kilometers in midair with an SM-3 missile launched from the cruiser.
