North Korean Officials Pay their Respects at the Geumsusan Palace

Kim Young Nam, chairman of North Korea’s Supreme People’s Committee (fourth to the left, front row), and other North Korean high-ranking officials are paying their respects at the Geumsusan Memorial Palace, where Kim Il Sung’s body is placed, on January 1. At its New Year’s speech, North Korea expressed its plans to become involved in South Korea’s presidential elections, stating, “the Grand National Party should be put to rest through this year’s elections.”
