Tree Disease

On February 1, the Forest Government Information Agency’s Disease/Blight Prevention Team removed and destroyed a number of diseased Koran white pines from the hills of Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province. The infection has traditionally been confined to the southeastern or East Sea area, but has recently spread to the Seoul Metropolitan Area and Gangwon Province. The infection kills the trees by blocking their moisture and nourishment passages.
