As the heat wave swamped Korea earlier than usual, summer mats and cushions are flying off the shelves. The Yongsan branch of E-mart, the biggest local retailer, is to give a 20 percent discount from Wednesday through Sunday on bamboo mats, rugs, car seat covers and jukbuins (Dutch wives made of bamboo).
