Lee Hyung-taik Cruises into Round Two on ATP Tour

Korea’s top tennis player Lee Hyung-taik (Samsung Securities, photo) advanced to the second round of the ATP Tour Indianapolis Championships.

Lee, who is ranked 38th in the world, beat Donald Young, a U.S. next generation hopeful (221st), 2-0 (6-2, 6-4), in his first match held on July 25. He has reached the second round four consecutive times this year. In the second round, he will play local player Paul Goldstein (96th).

His chances of victory are high if he continues to play well on the momentum of his advance to the semifinal of the 2007 ATP Countrywide Classic. The winner of the Indianapolis Championships will receive 73,000 dollars and 175 tour points.
