Korean left-back Kim Dong-jin (25, FC Zenit St. Petersburg) kicked an amazing goal which could be comparable with top European players in the opening game of the 2007-2008 UEFA Cup against Belgium-based Standard Liege, which was held on September 21 at Petrovsky Stadium in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Kim recorded the game`s final goal in a 3-1 win 40 minutes into the second half. Since his two consecutive goals in the 21st round match against Tomsk on August 20, Kim has been doing a tremendous job with four goals and one assist in just one month, while leading his team to a victory in the UEFA Cups second qualifying rounds against Zlate Moravce (Slovakia).
Meanwhile, the English Tottenham Hotspurs had a sweeping victory over the Cypriot side, Anorthosis Famagusta, 6-1 in their UEFA cup opener at White Hart Lane on the same day. Lee Yeong-pyo, a popular Korean player, did not play in the game.
