[Soccer] Midfielder Kim Set to Join Top English League

Soccer midfielder Kim Do-heon is soon expected to become the fifth Korean to join the English Premier League.

His team West Brom is in England’s second-division Championship, but is poised to rejoin the Premiership thanks to a 1-1 home tie with South Hampton yesterday.

West Brom leads the Championship with 22 wins, 11 losses and 12 ties, translating into 78 points and a goal difference of plus 19. Trailing close behind are Stoke City (78 points and goal difference of plus 14) and Hull City (78 points and goal difference of 12). West Brom will get promoted unless it loses its final game Sunday against the Queens Park Rangers by a large margin.

West Brom was dropped from the Premiership in 2005.

Kim joined the team in January.
