Re-election of N. Korean Leader

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il (middle) is re-elected as chairman of the powerful National Defense Commission in the first meeting of the 12th Supreme People’s Assembly Thursday. The North’s state-run Korean Central Television said mass dance parties were held in Pyongyang and other places across the nation where some five million youths took part to celebrate Kim’s re-election.
