The ground test launch vehicle for Koreas first space launch vehicle KSLV-1, which will send Koreas own scientific satellite into orbit, is placed on the launch pad at Naro Space Center on Oenaro Island in the southwestern region yesterday. Researchers from the Korea Aerospace Research Institute have connected cables to the vehicle for communication with a control center and conducted a safety test. When the first-stage booster arrives from Russia in early June, assembly work will begin according to the procedure confirmed by the inspection test. KSLV-1s launch is scheduled for the end of July.
