Pres. Lee Visits Social Enterprise

President Lee Myung-bak yesterday hailed workers at Dongcheon, a social enterprise in northern Seoul. Forty of the company`s 63 employees are physically challenged.

"It would be difficult for (low income) households to enjoy the value of life only by receiving little money from government welfare without getting jobs," he said.

"(Welfare policy) is meant to benefit ordinary people but the ultimate goal is to create jobs.”

President Lee also wore sunglasses in his visit due to cataract surgery he received over the Lunar New Year holiday.
