A woman holding a baby in her arms stages a protest Wednesday in front of a McDonald’s in Chicago, urging the fast food giant to retire Ronald McDonald, the chain’s mascot for almost 50 years. The activist group Corporate Accountability International, which led the protest, said the mascot has been getting American children addicted to unhealthy foods and spurring an epidemic of diet-related disease.
